Burial Rites For John Svoboda At Elba John Svoboda was born in Czechoslovakia, May 17, 1875 and immigrated with his parents to America in early childhood residing on a farm in Howard, County Nebr. for a number of years. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Gray Sedeva at St. Paul, Nebr. Jan 3, 1900 and to this union four sons and five daughters were born. He moved to Fort Calhoun, Neb. in 1912 where he farmed until four years ago when he retired and made his home with his children. He passed away at Omaha, Neb on August 1, 1955 at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 14 days and is survived by three sons and four daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, who lost her life in the tornado which struck Ft. Calhoun in 1913, (Easter Sunday) an infant son and a daughter, Minnie who died in 1914 from the effects of the tornado which claimed the life of his wife.
