Melvin Williams Funeral services for Mr. Melvin O. "Doodle" Williams, 76, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Jerry McFarland officiating. Burial followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden. Mr. Williams, a native of Junction City, Ark., and a resident of Sibley for the past nine years, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, in Shreveport. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anita L. Williams of Sibley; one son, Donald R. Williams and wife Michelle of Minden; two daughters, Cynthia D. Rowell of Hopkinsville, Ky., Angela M. Price and her husband Richard of Greers Ferry, Ark.; four grandchildren, Catherine R. Wyatt and husband Randy of Baton Rouge, Michael J. DeLano of Minden, Clayton W. Miller of Minden, and Justin C. Miller of Ruston. Published in the MINDEN PRESS-HERALD on Monday, 16 December 2003.
