Bio

Willie Howell "Dub" was the son of Willie and Sarah May (Benham) Berry. He married Rachel Elizabeth Wilson on March 17, 1935 in Amherst, Texas; they had 3 children: Billy Wayne, Marilyn Kay and Lesa Dawn. During WW II Dub worked as a security guard in an ordnance plant until enlisting in the US Navy where he served on the USS Pensacola. After the war he attended Decatur Baptist College. Through the years, he served as lay preacher, deacon, treasurer and teacher in addition to other church responsibilities. He and his brother-in-law John Clayton owned the B&C Pump and Machine Works. Dub raised horses and gardened until the last few years of his life.
