dau of J. J. Pell, mother's maiden name was Storie Added by Linda Gilchrest (I believe that Diwning Methodist church should be Downing Methodist Church but I typed it as it was written.) MRS. IDA LEWIS DIED JUNE 8th Mrs. Ida Mintie (Pell)Lewis, 54, died Friday, June 8, at 10:45 in her home at De Leon, after a serious illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at Diwning Methodist Church, Saturday, June 20, conducted by Rev. T.J. Sparkman with W. T. Hazzard assisting. Mrs. Lewis was born in March, 1890, near De Leon and became a member of the First Baptist Church when a child. She was married to Dave Lewis in October, 1904 and to the union was born 12 children. The deceased was preceded in death by her husband and 2 children. Those surviving are H. T. Lewis, Downing; Mrs. Myrl Hughes, Dublin; Mrs. Ollie Waddell, Evant, Mrs. Eunice Flippen, Linnell, Calif; Mrs. Hazel Jones, Odessa; Pfc Weldon J. Lews in Italy, Pvt Gene Lewis, Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. Johnnie Speck, Rochester, Tex; Miss Mayme Ruth and R. V. Lewis, De Leon, her sisters and brothers, Mrs. Cassie Lewis, Ott Pell, and Mrs. Alice Morrison, all of Downing; Jess Pell, Rotan,; Mrs. Emma Lancaster, De Leon; Mrs. Mayme Timmiss, Dublin; Pet Pell, Comyn. All the children were present at the funeral except Pfc. Weldon J. Lewis.
