Frank J. Kirschner, 68, of Amherst, died Sunday morning at his home in Amherst. Born in Pleasanton, he had lived in the Pleasanton-Amherst area all of his life. He was a World War 1 veteran; a member of the St. John Capistran Catholic Church in Amherst, and the Kearney American Legion post. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., at the St. John Capistran Catholic Church with Father Joseph Abele officiating. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery, with Buffalo County Post No. 52, American Legion, in charge of military rites. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m., Monday at the Anderson-Johnson Mortuary. Survivors include his wife, Clara; three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Vogt, Ravenna, Mrs. Phyllis Saathoff, Miller, and Mrs. Evelyn King, Amherst; three brothers, Robert and Charles, both of Pleasanton, and Rudolph, Haxtum, Colorado; two sister, Mrs. Rosie Nickman, Pleasanton, and Mrs. Minnie Gunst, Kearney, and 14 grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be nephews, Mike Kuntz, George Vacek, Lawrence O'Nele, Arthur Margritz, Cecil Nickman and Charles Kirschner.
