As a young man he was a master carpenter. Later, after moving to Calif. he worked briefly as a logger, then as a flagman for the Southern Pacific railroad for 15 years. He was married 3 times, had 3 daughters, 2 sons, and 17 grandchildren. He was 5'10" He and his first wife Loie Rice had four children, before she died shortly after giving birth to twins. After her death the three younger children were adopted by other families. The oldest Cecile mostly stayed with her dad, Jack was adopted by Will and Nettie Tetschner, and the twins Ivan and Iva were adopted by Aretus Waters and his wife. Later he married Wilhelmenia Sanders. They had a daughter Ella Bee, but shortly thereafter they were divorced. Don't know the last name of his 3rd wife; first name was Maudie. His daughter Cecil is also buried in this same cemetery under her married name of McAllister. Find A Grave #97737036
