Son of Charles J & Nettie Hurst Hinkle. He was a farmer & owned two stores in AR. His children: Verbena Hinkle White, Charles Hinkle, Alma Hinkle Burger, Velma Hinkle Finger, Nettie Hinkle Fulbright, Clerance Hinkle & Betty Phillips. Married Bessie S Reed 08/21/1910. Southeast Missourian Cape Girardeau, MO October 2, 1969 WILLIAM HINKLE Funeral services were held Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance for William Cleveland Hinkle, 82 years old of Advance, who died Tuesday of last week in a hospital in Cape Girardeau. Burial was in Morgan Memorial Park. Mr. Hinkle, a retired farmer, was born March 18, 1887 at Benton. On August 22, 1910, he married Miss Bessie Reed who preceded him in death on October 6, 1966. Mr. Hinkle was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons: Charles and Dempsey of Advance and William R. of Cape Girardeau: four daughters, Mrs. Lee Fulbright of Cape, Mrs. Alma Burger and Mrs. Betty Phillips of St. Louis and Mrs. Michael Finger of Fort Madison, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Hager of Advance; a foster sister, Mrs. Clifford Scars of Corning, Ark. 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death.
