Lucuis Cahal "Samuel" Garrett was born in Marshall County, TN, to Thomas and Ellizabeth (Garrett) Garrett. He married Frances Courtney Branch on 19 Dec 1865 in Columbia, TN. They were the parents of: Melena Elizabeth Garrett, Mary Ozell Garrett, Frances Lucretia Garrett, Fanine (?) Garrett, William "Willie" Whitthorne Garrett, Laura Pearl Garrett and Lloyd Tilman Garrett. His spouse, Frances, predeceased him and he later married Melvina E. White on 1 May 1881 but she died in childbirth wirth their first child.
