Bio

Ruth Edith Lawson, 89, died Nov. 7, 2000, at Lake District Hospital in Lakeview. She was born in New Pine Creek to Walter and Anna (Gallagher) Butler. She was raised at New Pine Creek and graduated from Lakeview High School. She married Truman Lawson on Feb. 9, 1932. She was involved in the family logging and cattle business until retiring in 1994. Mrs. Lawson enjoyed needlework, gardening, cooking and dancing. She enjoyed, most of all, being a grandmother. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Valdene Lawson and Richard and Dixie Laswon of New Pine Creek; grandchildren, David, Gerald, Randy and Jennifer Lawson, Gena Williams, and Carrie Bender; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers, Earl, Alvin, Lawrence, and Marvin, and her sisters, Margaret. Contributed by Jeanie Sawyer
