Bio

Maude was the daughter of Charles A (E) Rainwater 1850 – 1896 and Dora Alice Eugenia Smith 1860 – 1942. She married June 24, 1906 in Wood County, Texas to Walter Robert Russell 1886 -1942. They lived in Hopkins County when their first child Mildred was born in 1908 and Robert in 1909. They moved to Haskell County before 1910. They had a still born child in 1910 and then they had Horace Nathan, Carroll Malcolm, Jewell, Jessie Earl,and Maude Beatrice. They moved to Tira, Hopkins County, Texas before 1919 when Bessie Eugenia was born there. Walter Leon the tenth child was born April 16, 1922 in Tira, Hopkins Co. Maude died April 22 when Leon was only 6 days old. Walter moved his family of children to to a farm near Huntsville in Walker County, Texas in the Crabbs Prairie area, so he could be near some of his family. They helped him raise the 8 surviving children.
