Rainwater Dies; Funeral To Be Monday Thomas Watson Rainwater, 68-year-old retired farmer, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday at the Childress General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Childress Church of Christ, with Jack Hackworth officiating. Burial will be in the Carey Cemetery. Mr. Rainwater was born August 23, 1894, at Sulphur Springs and moved to Childress County from Wood County in 1924. He retired in 1957 from farming in Carey and moved to Childress. Mrs. Rainwater died here May 6, 1961. He was a member of Cox-Furr Post of the American Legion, World War I Veterans and the Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Thomas L. Rainwater of Houston, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Mae Vandiver of Amarillo, one sister, Mrs. R.P. Owen of Childress, one brother, C.W. Rainwater of Klamath Falls, Ore., and six grandchildren.
