Jackie "Jack" Robison died on July 30, 2011, in Sugar Land, Texas, at the age of 88 years. Services will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, Texas. Burial will follow at Guy Public Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jarrett Robison, Collin Gates, Matt Moore, Zachary Fojtik, Quentin Fojtik, and Rodney Elster. Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2011, from 5-7 PM, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, Texas 77461. Jack was born on May 9, 1923, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Ara Mae and George Robison. He was the youngest and last to go of 13 children. Jack's depression era stories were brightened by his high school state championship football accomplishments. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. After his service he was a fireman at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, a bus driver in Houston, and then worked at Jefferson Lake Sulphur Company before becoming the proprietor of "Jack's Place" and a rural mail carrier. Jack was a "yellow dog" democrat and never wavered. He enjoyed building things, his cattle, his family, and his Oklahoma Sooners. He was straight forward, honest and a God fearing man believing in Jesus Christ. Jack served on the Board of Needville ISD as well as the Needville United Church of Christ, the Needville Youth Fair Board, and was a member of the American Legion Post 350 Needville. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and first wife of 58 years, Ola Marie Robison, and is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Teykl Fojtik Robison of 7 plus years, his children Kenneth Robison and wife, Linda, of Franklin, Texas, Wendell Robison and wife, Kathy, of Tomball, Texas, and Beverly Kalina of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tamara Burnett, Jarret Robison, Robin Kalina, Lyndsey Moore, Lacey Gates and Lilly Robison, his 8 great grandchildren and by Joyce's loving children, Jimmy Fojtik and wife, Kathy, Tommy Fojtik and wife, Deborah, and Kathryn Fojtik Boynton and husband, Norris, 5 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lovalee Horak, his brothers-in-law Marion Teykl and wife, Shirley, and Charles Teykl and wife, Randee, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.
