Bio
Joy Keller White Farris went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2010. Joy was born on August 15, 1924, on the family farm in Eliasville, Texas, to Oma Lee Keller White and Austin T. White. Her family moved to Waco, Texas, in 1932, where she completed school and met the love of her life and married Thad Littleton Farris on June 15, 1947. Thad joined the military and served as an Army Aviator in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Their military life took them to many wonderful places, meeting life-long friends. They retired in Dallas, Texas, where Joy began her career at the Inwood National Bank making more wonderful friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thad, grandson Michael B. Millet, brothers A. T. White, Lonnie A. White and sister Virginia L. Dunson. She is survived by her two beloved daughters Cyncha K. Farris and Jean F. Millet and husband Daniel M. Millet, her sister Betty Lyons and husband Tommy Lyons, sisters-in-law Nellie Slough, Jan White, Jane Crutcher and Patsy Armstrong and by many nieces and nephews that she loved so much. Her family will receive friends at Sparkman/Hillcrest Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at 2:00 pm, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on N.W. Highway, followed by graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to Carter Blood Bank or Scottish Rite Hospital.
