Erna Mueller, 90, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Columbus Community Hospital. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 19, 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Revs. Patrick Sparling and Kurt Ebert officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials are suggested to the following: Immanuel Lutheran Church or School or the American Diabetes Association. Erna M. Mueller was born January 24, 1920, in Columbus, Nebraska, to William and Anna (Schutte) Klug. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On September 24, 1941, Erna was united in marriage to Harvey LaVern Mueller at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. Erna and Harvey celebrated 69 years of wedded life together. She had a deep love for her daughters and granddaughters. Their many nieces and nephews will treasure the special times that they had together with Erna and Harvey when they were young. For several years, Erna had a local vending route and became known as "The Candy Lady". For over 80 years, Erna was a member of the "Happy Go Lucky Club". She was also a member of the "Golden Keys Extension Club". Erna loved to work in her vegetable garden and raise flowers. For 40 years, Erna was the Platte County Fair Floral Superintendent and in 1989 the Platte County Fair Book was dedicated to her. All will remember Erna for the loving smile that she had for everyone that she met. Erna was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her dedication to others was proof of the love she had for her Lord Jesus Christ. Erna is survived by: Husband - Harvey LaVern Mueller of Columbus, NE Daughter - Ann Andrejack of Lincoln, NE Daughter - Lori (Alan) Micek of Columbus, NE Granddaughters - Michele (Cory) Harms of Lincoln, NE; Melisa Andrejack of Lincoln, MO; Twins - Andrea and Elicia Micek, and Sarah Micek all of Columbus, NE Numerous neices and nephews Erna was preceded in death by: Parents - William and Anna Klug Son-in-law - Robert Andrejack Brothers - Ewald, Louis, Raymond, and Herb Klug Sisters - Laura Mueller, Esther Grotelueschen, and Alvina Siefken
