Bio
Son of William & Anna (Schutte) Klug. He attended District #2 Platte County Grade School and Kramer High School. On December 27, 1941, Herbert was united in marriage to Doris Loseke in Manchester, Iowa. Herbert was a lifelong farmer and cattle feeder of Platte County. During his youth, Herbert took an interest in horses and began buying and selling them. He was instrumental in starting the Night Riders Saddle Club. In the early 1960's until the late 1970's, Herbert and his brother Raymond were in partnership together in Klug Brother's Livestock, buying and selling cattle. He was a member of the Platte County Feeders, was honored as a Outstanding Platte County Senior Farmer and received the Platte County Cattleman's Award. He enjoyed horse back riding, fishing with the grandkids, and doing "prairie preservation" with his grandchildren.
