The Nebraska Signal: 2 November 1972, pg 5 col 3 Emma Ondrak Skoglund, daughter of Charles and Anna Novak Ondrak, was born in Fillmore county April 27, 1898. January 20, 1919, she was united in marriage to Clyde Skoglund. To this union were born one son and two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Doremus of Greely, Col., and Maxine George of Geneva. They made their home on a farm near Martland until 1942 when they moved to Geneva. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son. She is survived by two daughters; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters and one half-sister, Mayme Novak of Orland, Cal., Helen Petracek of Cicero, Ill., Mollie Funderburk of Laurel, Md, Ella Grote of Geneva and Minnie Morgan of Nettleton, Mo. Funeral services were held at the Farmer-Harris Funeral Home in Geneva at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, with Rev. John E. Stayton officiating. Mrs. Clarence Najmon, accompanied by Mrs. Norval Lomax, organist, sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were Don E. Apley, Orville Ellison, Dean Manire, John Macrander, William F. Neville and Dan Waldron. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
