Milo L. Meduna was born near Weston, Nebraska on December 17, 1930 to James and Catherine (Chapek) Meduna. He attended a rural grade school near Weston and farmed and lived south of Weston his entire life. Milo served in the US Army during the Korean War with the 185th Army Engineers. He entered the service December 11, 1952 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal at Colorado Springs, CO on September 23, 1954. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. On April 19, 1958, Milo was united in marriage to Elaine Stava at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno, NE. Milo passed away October 10, 2010 at the South Haven Living Center in Wahoo at the age of 79 years. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston and a 55 year member of American Legion Post #308. Milo was always ready to carry on a good conversation with anyone. He was a good Samaritan and would stop to help anyone broken down along the road. Milo successfully fought off both stomach cancer and a heart bypass. Milo is survived by his wife Elaine, son and daughter in law John and Carol Meduna, Crescent, IA; daughters and sons in law, Constance and Arthur Paquin, Carlisle, IA, Theresa and Michael Glanz, Rose and Steve Daharsh, Joyce and Kenneth DeLay, and Jane and Mathew Fesler, all of Wahoo; ten grandchildren; brother Raymond Meduna, Wahoo; sisters and brothers in law, Rose and Wesley Shepard, Lincoln, NE, and Betty and Floyd Hutzenbiler, Rockville, MD; Dorothy (Dan) Meduna, Weston, NE; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel Meduna and sister in law Dorothy (Ray) Meduna. Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 13 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo with Rev. Christopher Goodwin officiating. Interment was at St. John Cemetery in Weston with military honors by American Legion Post 308. Casket bearers were John Crha, Ron Meduna, Curtis Havelka, Melvin Sabatka, Anthony Paquin and Hayden DeLay.
