The Wellington Leader March 22, 1984 Marcus B. Partisan, 83, died at 4:31 p.m. Saturday, March 17 in Collingsworth General Hospital. This county had been his home since he was a young boy. Mr. Sparring was a retired stock farmer, although he had remained active in this until he was approximately 80 years of age, going from town each day to look after his live stock. He and his wife, Lena, lived in the Cross Roads community for 37 years before moving into Wellington in 1966. He was a member of Cross Roads School Board when it was consolidated into Quail district. Mr Parrigan was born in Fanning County October 14, 1900, the son of Joe V. Parrigan and Lila Jefferson Parrigan. The family moved here from Fanning County in 1911 and first at Rolla for several years then at Houselog. He attended school in both communities. He was married to Miss Lena Elizabeth Richards on February 9, 1929 at Wellington. She died September 23, 1980. He was a Baptist and member of the Farm Bureau. Survivors include two sons, Joe Allen Parrigan of Andrews and Van T. Parrigan of Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Lila Lee Wilkins of Ft. Worth; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
