Obit in Lake Charles American Press 10-9-2010. Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 96, of Rosepine, will be held today, Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church near Rosepine with Rev. Arlen Smith officiating.Interment will follow at Johnson Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Chaddick Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 9 and will continue today, Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.Mary passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center.She was preceded in death by her husband, Beltran Johnson and her grandson, Alan Gill. Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Gill Johnson of Rosepine and husband Billy Guy; two sons, Elvin Gill and wife Bertisha, and Robert Gill and wife Patricia, all of Rosepine; seven grandchildren, Mike Johnson, Connie Johnson, Jay Harmon Johnson, Shannon Scott Gill, Hope Gill, Casey Gill, and Lee Ann Gill Cooley; two sisters, Quillie Verdine of Port Arthur, Texas, and Opal Derouen of Sulphur; one brother, Robert Corsey and wife Mickey of Arkansas; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; honorary grandchildren, Chris and Shannon Ledet; and honorary great-grandchildren, Whitney and Cade Ledet.
