The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebraska) 03 Oct 1940, Thu Page 1 Funeral Rites For Joseph K. Vlach Held Here Saturday Funeral services for Jos. K. Vlach, 67, Clarkson business man and former Dodge farmer, who died Thursday, were held Saturday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. Fillipi in the National Hall at Clarkson at 1:30 and at 2:30 in the chapel at the Bohemian National Cemetery at Dodge. He was laid to rest in the Bohemian National cemetery here. Joseph Vlach was born in Bohemia in 1873 and came to this country at the age of 17 years. He was married some years later to Anna Hemerka of the Dodge community. They resided for many years on a farm north of Dodge moving to a farm which he purchased near Clarkson in 1915. About 10 years ago he purchased a filling station at Clarkson which he has operated with his son since that time. Mrs. Vlach died 7 years ago. Surviving him are 5 sons, Charles, Leigh; Henry, Sioux City; Joseph, Schuyler; Frank and Edwin at Clarkson and 7 daughters Mrs. Adolph Simanek, Prague, Mrs. George Lodes, Dodge; Mrs. Fred Kemp, Schuyler and Mrs. Ed Prazak, Clarkson. Also surviving him are three brothers Frank, Omaha; Anton, Clarkson and William of San Fernando, Calif. and one sister Mrs. Emil Molle, West Point.
