Bio
Mary Margaret Wasson, of Dayton, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at her residence. She was 72. A lifelong resident of Rhea County, Mrs. Wasson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dayton. She retired after 29 years of serving as a Rhea County school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.L. (Jerry) Wasson Jr.; son, James (Jim) Wasson; and parents. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Amy Wasson of Cleveland, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Jerry T. Wasson of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and James Wasson Jr. of Pasadena, Texas. Funeral services were conducted Sunday in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Burial followed in Buttram Cemetery in Dayton. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
