Sarah A. K. Stout LA VERK1N, Washington County—Mrs. Sarah Ann Empey Stout, widow of Allan Joseph Stout and one of this cornmiinitys oldest I resdents, died at her home here late Monday of a stoke following a long illness. She was S2 years old. A native of Washington County and llfelong L D S church worker, Mrs, Stout had been a resident of La Verkin for 40 years. Born at St. George September 16, 1850, she was a daughter of William C. and Martha Fielding Empey, searly St, George settlers. After moving to La Verkln she became the first president of the LDS Relief Society here. She is survived by four sons and daughters, Allan J. Stout of Hurricane; David Stout of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Powtll S Strutton of LaVerkin; and Mrs. Hyrum Thompson of St, George; four brothers, Hyrum Empey of Junction; Arthur Empey of Hurley, Idaho; And Heber and Charles Empey, both of St. George; a sister, Mrs. Mary Thomas of St. George; 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the LaVerkin LDS Chapel Friday at 2 p.m. by Bishop Vernon Church.
