Father: William Adam Empey Mother: Martha Fielding Empey Wife: #1 Harriet Keele (Md.Jun 15 1881)(Died Jul 11 1906) #2 Mary Keele McIntosh (Md.Jul 15 1909) ( (died 20 1916) #3 Eva J Gilger (Md.Aug 29 1916)(Div.Jun 3 1924) #4 Mary Eva LaBarron Bay (Md. 9/9/1926) Cause of Death: Stroke When he was nine years of age the fmaily moved to St.George. He grew to manhood in Utah's Dixie. He spent one and a half years working on the St.George Temple and was a missionary to the Navajo and Moquitch Indians for 18 months. He hauled freight between St.George and SLC for five years. It took a month to make the trip. After marrying Harriet they moved to Panaca, Nevada, where they lived a number of years. THey were parents of nine children. While there, he served as leader of the choir and superintendant of the Sunday School, serving many years. When his wife passed away he moved to Junction. He later married his wife's sister. They separated and she later died. He then married Mrs. Eva Johann Leibert Gilger. After 8 years they divorced. He was a machinist and blacksmith, having spent 35 years working at that trade. For several years after coming to Junction he was in the mercantile business and served as a member of the Junction Town Board and for a number of years was president of the City Creek Irrigation Company. At the time of his death he was the oldest resident and lived in Junction for 33 years.
