Acadia Parish Today: CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church for, Beverly Ann Bartell Ducrest, 85, who died September 4, 2010 in Athens, Texas. Rev. Jimmy Broussard will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home and Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Mrs. Ducrest was born September 3, 1925 in Crowley to the late Limey J. Bartell and Beatrice Hockaday Bartell. She resided in Crowley until 2006. Mrs. Ducrest was employed at Bank of Commerce and Trust Company for 29 years, retiring January 1, 1985. She was a long time active member of First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Galbert J. "Duo" Ducrest of Athens, Texas; one sister, Gloria Bartell Gray of Crowley; three nephews, William Nugent, John Nugent, and Jeff Lyons; two nieces, Celeste Nugent Dolan, and Claudia Lyons Foster; eight great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Alicia Spears Randall of Iota. Mrs. Ducrest is preceded in death by her parents, Limey and Beatrice Hockaday Bartell; and one sister, Patricia Beatrice Nugent. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church 321 E. Fourth Street, Crowley 70526.
