Price of the First Methodist church, will conduct the services and interment will be at Maplewood. ************************************************ The Emporia Gazette, 09 Mar 1907, Sat FUNERAL OF MRS. H. H. WHITE The funeral of Mrs. H. H. White was held from the family home yesterday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. J. H. Price, of the First Methodist church, conducted the services, and preached a short sermon full of hope and comfort to the family, and to the large number of friends and neighbors present. The floral designs were many and beautiful, and the casket was hidden with flowers. The pall-bearers were H. O. Frantz, F. H. Bowers, J. F. Kenney, Walter Stowe, D. D. Williams, and H. Dunlap, all old friends of the family. Mrs. White, who was Miss Jennie Sedgwick, was born in Bethany, Ill, October 31, 1856 (sic). She with her widowed mother came to Emporia over thirty years ago and joined her brother, T. N. Sedgwick, who had preceded them to Kansas. She was married to H. H. White January 6, 1890. Mrs. White was a woman of a deeply religious temperament, and her faith and trust were strengthened by her long sickness. For the past four years Mrs. White had been an invalid, and since last June had been confined to her bed, and death came to her as a relief from suffering. Besides her husband, Mrs. White leaves her aged mother, Mrs. Polly Sedgwick, and a brother, Joseph Sedgwick, who lives in St. Louis. One brother, T. N. Sedgwick, of Parsons, died two years ago.
