Funeral services for Elzie H. Champion, 77, of 1204, Sheraton St., S.E., Decatur, were conducted Tuesday, March 24,8t 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel in Hartselle with the Revs. Clyde Ledlow and E.P. Berry officiating. A Masonic graveside service was conducted at Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Champion died Sunday, March 22, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Somerville Masonic Lodge and Hartselle Eastern Star. He was owner of Champion Building and Repair Service in Decatur and was retired from Decatur Housing Authority. He is survived by his wife, Jewel Champion of Decatur; one son, Howard Champion of Hartselle; two brothers, Millard Champion and Ray Champion, both of Somerville; three sisters, Etha Nappier of Union Hill; Reba Rainey of Omaha, Neb. and Vivian Owens of Somerville; and one granddaughter.
