Bio

D.W. McDonald, 86, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his home in Evant, Texas. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Murphree Cemetery in Evant. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gatesville Funeral Home. D.W. was born in Vista Mountain, Texas, to the late Jacob Calvin McDonald and Beatrice (Eubanks) McDonald. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1942. D.W. owned and operated McDonald Electric Co. in Gatesville for 40 years. His favorite hobby was dancing in the over 50 dance groups. He was a member of Gatesville Lions Club for 58 years. He was the head of the historical commission that was responsible for restoring the Coryell County Courthouse. D.W. is survived by his wife, Edna; son, David McDonald and wife, Susan; and grandsons, Ian McDonald and wife, Katerine and Andrew McDonald. Waco Tribune-Herald: 9/17/2010...J6/TG4.1
