From The Palmer Journal, Thursday, November 21, 1968, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Robert Semple, 52, To Be Buried Friday - Funeral services have been arranged for Robert Semple, son of Mrs. Ada Semple and the late Wm. Semple of Palmer. Robert, 52, died in the Vets Hospital in Grand Island, Tuesday..... Robert W. Semple was born March 29, 1916 in Lincoln to Ada and Wm. Semple. At the age of six he went with his parents to Burwell where he lived seven years before moving to Palmer where he received his education. Bob entered the U.S. Army in 1939 where he served until 1945. He spent many years working and traveling throughout the United States. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ada Semple of Palmer, one brother Harold of Burwell, one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Vlach of Lincoln, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
