Gainesville Sun, The (FL) - March 15, 2003 William Elliott "Buddy" Faxon of Gainesville died Thursday at Shands at AGH. He was 73. Mr. Faxon was a graduate of Bradford High School in Starke and Southern College in Lakeland, and taught at Bradford Junior High in Starke, and for many years at Westwood Middle School in Gainesville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of University City Church of Christ in Gainesville. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Cherry L. Ward Faxon of Gainesville; and sisters Dorothy Faxon Waters of Gainesville and Donna Faxon Gillis of Tallahassee. Arrangements by Hiers Funeral Home in Ocala. The Gainesville Sun March 15, 2003
