Printed in the Times Post dated June 23 1977 Funeral services for William Clifton Loden, Sr., were held at 4 pm Tuesday, June 21 from the Houston Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Howard Hathorn. Interment was in Mixon Cemetery. Mr. Loden died at 7:30 am, June 20. The Hamilton, Ala., native was a retired school teacher and was a farmer and cattleman. He was the son of George Loden and Pearl Pope. He was a member of the House of Representative from Clay County from 1946 to 1958. He was also a trustee of East Mississippi Junior College at Scooba, and was a graduate of Mississippi State University. He was president of the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Kathryn Brand Logan of Houston, a son, W C Loden, Jr., of Pontotoc; one daughter, Mrs. Ann Loden Vickery of Houston; a brother, T A Carter of Booneville, and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Billy Brand, John S Brand, Toby Dexter, Bobby Pearson, Sr., Charles Brand and Hassell Franklin.
