Bio

Russell B. Jeffrey, 85, Moberly, died this morning, at 4:16 a.m. at North Village Park where he had been a resident for the past three years. He was born Nov. 9, 1899 at College Mound, MO to Robert and Dessie Berry Jeffrey. He had lived in the Moberly area since 1927 and was involved in farming and heavy equipment contracting. He was an active Mason, belonging to Milton Lodge, 151; the Moberly Chapter, 79 of Royal Arch Masons; the Tancred Commandery 25; Centralia Council; Scottish Rite of Columbia, MO; and the Ararat Shrine of Kansas City. He was a long-time active member of Central Christian Church and a member of the Moberly Rotary Club. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Berry and Billie Jeffrey, Cairo; and Jerry and Carolyn Jeffrey, Moberly; one sister, Evelyn Gaines, Moberly; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Cater Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Mattson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
