Franklin News-Herald, February 14, 1942 Mrs. Grace McQueen Richey, 76, widow of Dr. W.J. Richey, of Chapmanville, died at the Titusville Hospital at 8 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Richey was a daughter of Thomas and Cynthia McQueen and was born near Hartstown, Nov. 16, 1865. She was graduated from Meadville High School in 1882. She taught one term in Crawford County, two years in New Jersey and also in Rochester, N.Y. In 1890, the deceased was married to Dr. Richey in Buffalo and in 1984 they settled in Chapmanville, where she had resided ever since. Always active and interested in community life and for 47 years a member of the Chapmanville Methodist Church, she was loved and respected by all who knew her for her high character and unselfish devotion to the ideals of service. Dr. Richey died several years ago. The widow leaves three children: Miss Leila G. Richey, teacher in the Centerville Borough School: W. Clyde Richey, of Pittsburgh and Donald J. Richey, of Newport, Del. There are the following grandchildren: Kathryn Hartung, Eugene Richey and Rosemary Richey, of Tucson, Ariz., and William Richey in the U.S. Army stationed at Seattle. There is also one brother, the Rev. Dr. Glenrole McQueen, of Versailles, Ind. The body is at the McKinley Funeral Home in Chapmanville where friends may call. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. John L. Murray will officiate.
