Bio

Haskell, TX -- Martha Estella Dunnam Breeden, age 90, slipped peacefully into Heaven on August 25, 2010 at a local medical facility in Haskell. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the East Side Baptist Church, 600 N. 1st St. E. in Haskell. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery.A meal for the family will be served starting at 11:30 in the fellowship hall of the East Side Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 27th at Holden-McCauley Funeral Home, 304 N. 2nd in Haskell. Martha Estella was known as Stella, Aunt Stella and MaMaw by her siblings, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was born in Woodville, OK, on January 7, 1920. Later she moved to Haskell with her family and grew up on a farm. She attended school and graduated from Weinert High School. Estella married John W. Breeden Sr. on December 17, 1941 in Haskell County. They had five children which they raised in many places, following John as he made his career in the Army. After retirement they moved back to Haskell. John passed away on August 17, 1984. Estella was a very talented seamstress. She sewed professionally as well as for her self and her family; including many outfits she made for grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also known for the many beautiful quilts she pieced by hand. Estella was preceded in death by her husband John, her mother and father Faye Tinie and C.A. Dunnam, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her children, Johnny Breeden and wife Adonna, Allen Breeden and wife Pat, Charles Breeden, Kathy Fox and husband Charles and Ronnie Breeden, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews. The family would like to thank all the employees at the Haskell Nursing Home for all their love and care they showed Estella. Estella will be truly missed by her family.
