Bio

Son of Elijah Corder. Died at Buckner's Ridge. Relationship with Jemima Hanshaw. From FAG Member #49464450: Jemima Hanshaw (daughter of Samuel and Eve Hanshaw/Henshaw) and Elijah Corder Jr. were never married. They had a base-born daughter, Barbara (b bef Aug 1834), who married Thomas V. Henninger 30 Aug 1854 in Tazewell Co VA. Elijah moved to Scott Co VA shortly after fathering Barbara Hanshaw, where he married Nancy Osborne, the younger sister of his sister Mary's husband, John C. Osborne. Elijah and Nancy stayed married and both are buried at the Corder-Mann Cemetery on Buckner's Ridge near Dungannon.
