From the Palmer Journal, April 28, 1955, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. Emily Kaspar Bahensky was born in the vicinity of Wahoo on September 8, 1875. She was the daughter of Anton and Katherine Kaspar. In her youth the family moved to Schuyler which was her home until her marriage. On August 8, 1894 she was married to K. D. Bahensky. The first twelve years of their married life was spent in the eastern part of the state where Mr. Bahensky practiced is profession of teaching school. In 1906 they purchased a farm in Gage Valley. With the exception of the seven years Mr. Bahensky served as a county official in St. Paul, this place has been their home. Mrs. Bahensky passed away at the age of 79 years, 7 mo., and 11 days on April 19, 1955. In August of last year Mr. and Mrs. K. D. Bahensky observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband Damon, five children: Leonard of St. Paul, Mabel and Ray of Palmer, Julia Gibson and Clinton of Omaha; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
