Fort Worth (TX) Star-Telegram - Wednesday, 15 Aug 1945 Texas Soldier Killed in Motorcycle Crash LAREDO, Aug 14 (AP) -- One soldier was fatally injured and a second critically hurt when a motorcycle they were riding was in collision with an automobile five miles west of Hebbronville Sunday. Staff Sgt. George L. Hargis, 22, son of E. L. Hargis of Goose Creek, Texas, died in the Laredo Army Air Field hospital where he was taken after the accident. Corp. Roy B. Vaughn, 30, husband of Frances E. Vaughn of Houston, was seriously injured and is in the LAAF hospital. Both were stationed at the air field here.
