Mary Ellen Cook Blasengame (Wife of late Ira Wade Blasengame, 1-6-1914 / 6-15-1995) Lincoln Ledger, 9-5-2001 Ellen Blaengame, 84, of Star City, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001 at St Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, Little Rock. Born May 12, 1917, in Lincoln county, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas Cook and Mary Annabelle Bridges Cook. She worked for Ben Pearson in the archery department. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church at Star City. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Earl Blasengame; one brother, Ottis Cook; two sisters, Rosa Belle Tidwell and Hattie Peterson. Survivors include two sons, Don Blasengame and Wayne Blasengame, both of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Elizabeth Shillings of Star City; one brother, J.T. Cook of Star City; one sister, Lila Kelley of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held at 10 s.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2001 at Hale-South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff with Dwayne Roper officiating. Burial was in Drake Cemetery at Star City.
