Bio

The daughter of Frank Janicek, Sr. and Karolina Hermethora Janicek, Alouisa Janicek was born in Jechan, Moravia, Austria. She married Alois Kosch on 9 Feb 1880 in Platte County, Nebraska. She died when she was hit by a car. From the Columbus (NE) Telegram, Oct 15, 1915 Meets Death Under Auto, Bellwood Woman Avoids One Machine Only to Step in Front of Another One. "In her effort to avoid a passing automobile while crossing the street near her home at Bellwood, Mrs. Alois Kosch stepped in front of another car and was almost instantly killed last Sunday. Mrs. Kosch had just left the church and was going to her home across the street when the accident happened. The passing machine raised a cloud of dust that prevented her from seeing the second car approaching and also prevented the driver, Mr. M. G. Hudson from seeing her until it was too late to avoid the tragedy. Mr. Hudson was driving slowly. He brought the machine to a stop so quickly that one of the wheels rested on her body. She was immediately extricated from the death-trap, but the spark of life flickered out before a physician could reach the scene. Relatives of Mrs. Kosch attach no blame whatsoever to Mr. Hudson. Mrs. Kosch was a resident of Butler county for 39 years. She lived for 34 years on a farm near Bellwood and then moved into town about 5 years ago, following the death of her husband." Alois and Alouisa Janicek Kosch had nine children: Herman John (1880-1949), m. Loretta Mae McGowan Anna (1882-1969), m. George Zeller, then Baltus Hornung Alois Daniel (1887-1952), m. Bertha Thelen, then Regina Elizabeth Messing William Herman (1885-1975), m. Julia A. Hilger Rudolph (1889-1903) Henry J (1890-?), m. Angeline Shields Louisa (Lizzie) (1892-1988), m. George Thomas McGowen Adolph Clarence (1895-1978), m. Hermina "Minnie" Evelyn Schmid Charlotte (Lottie) (1897-1989), m. Frank Zimmer
