Bio
Azilee Elizabeth Gilchrest, 85, of De Leon, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her residence. She was born on January 18, 1925 in Comanche County to Walter E. Shupp and Lela Pearl Elliott Shupp. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Downing Cemetery. Her family received friends 9-11 am on Thursday, August 19. Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiated the service. Music was provided by Vicki Robinett and LaRessie Wilkerson. Azilee was a retired bank teller, loved dancing, watching Walker Texas Ranger, loved her family and was a very good cook. She is survived by her son, Gerald Gilchrest and wife Linda of De Leon; daughters, Trevlin Strong and husband Joe of Proctor, Threasa Jones of Granbury and special adopted daughter Mary Hays; brother, Roger Shupp, sisters, Audene Hughes, Dolly Rhodes and Laqueta Hudson; brother-in-law, Eugene Bibby; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lela Shupp; brother, Murdell Shupp; and two sisters, Jaunda Bibby and Betty Richards. Pallbearers were Tommy Hudson, Robert Hudson, Jeff Auvenshine, Clay Scott, Cody Rhodes, Danny Bibby and Randy Bibby. The Honorary Pallbearer was Rex Rhodes.
