Pontious, 57, of 829 Home Park Blvd., will be 2 p.m., Monday, at the Locke Funeral Home with burial in the Waterloo Cemetery. Mr. Pontious died Saturday morning at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of heart failure. Born April 7, 1918, in Norwich, son of John and Bessie Bloom Pontious, he was married to Marguerite Saul on Sept. 3, 1948, in Baltimore, Md. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army until his retirement in 1964. Survivors include his wife; two sons, John H., of Edwardsville, Ill., Alvin, at home; one daughter, Peggy, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Williams, of Pawnee City, Neb., Mrs. Ruby Smith, of Imogene; three brothers, Leslie, of; Ontario, Calif., Jake of Shendenoah, and George of Grand Island, Neb.
