The Deseret News December 24, 1991 page B3 Elmo Franklin Lunnen, age 81, died December 20, 1991 in Sandy, after a long illness. He was born May 11, 1910 in Crescent, Utah to Albert Charles and Elvina Jensen Lunnen. He married Melba Hardcastle, June 2, 1933 in Crescent, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active in baseball and basketball until 1947. Member of Championship Farm Bureau and semi pro baseball teams. Active in youth baseball until the late 1980s, referred to by many as ''Mr. Baseball of Crescent''. Avid golfer and bowler. Retired as a foreman at Kennecott Copper Mine after 36 1/2 years of service. He is survived by wife, [of] Sandy; son, two daughters and their spouses, Larry E. and Kaye, St. George; Luana and Rex Guymon, Draper; Nola and David Anderson, Everett, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Dora Wellington, Salt Lake City; brother, Gerald Lunnen, Sandy. Preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters. Funeral services, Friday, 11 a.m. in the Crescent 30th Ward Chapel, 89 East 11000 So. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, and Friday at the church one hour prior to service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
