OBITUARY OF ROSALIA KOSCH 1949 "Rosalia Bernt Kosch was born September 28, 1867 in Haukoritz, Austria* and died in Shelby, Nebraska June 23, 1949 at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 22 days. She came across with her parents at the age of seven years and spent her life in this community. Her husban, five brothers, two sisters and parents proceeded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Rinke and Mrs. Frank Messing of Shelby; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. After being in poor health for some time, she passed away at the Shelby hospital. Funeral services were held on Monday morning at nine o'clock from Sacred Heart Church of Shelby with burial beside her husband, Father Howe officiating. Servers were Francis Messing, Eugene Gabel, Louis Thelen and Tommy Kirkman. Pall Bearers were Sylvester Messing, Lawrence Rinke, Joseph Rinke, Chas Augustine, Richard and Benedict Messing." *-since 1918, Haukoritz, Austria was called Jamartice, Czechoslavakia-behind the Iron Curtain.
