His was the first entry in St. Roch's burial book. Family 1 : Arrived in 1844 at the Port of Galveston with wife Katharina, born abt 1801, and children: Johann Brod Jr., born abt 1823; Anton Brod, born abt 1825; Anna Maria Brod, born abt 1827; Jakob Brod, born abt 1829; Philipp Brod, born abt 1832; Nikolaus Brod, born abt 1835; and Peter Brod, born abt 1843. Family 2 : Johann married Elizabeth Ketterman Beimer, widow of Bernard Heinrich Beimer on 2 Aug 1845 in Colorado County, Texas. They had one child: Bernard Brod born 1846 (buried as Bernard Beimer).
