The son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Novak, little Marion was fatally burned when he accidentally sat in a kettle of boiling fruit juice that his mother was preparing for making jelly. The details of this incident reported in depth in The Banner-Press (David City, Nebraska) 12 Sep 1929, Thu Page 1. The funeral was held from the Evangelical church at Prague Friday morning, Sept. 6. Rev. Parolek, of Weston, had charge of the services. Interment was in the National cemetery at Prague. Marion is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Novak, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Junek and Mr. and Mrs. Novak, and a number of aunts and uncles. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mother was Lydia Josephine (Junek) Novak, daughter of Ben and Emma (Vondra) Junek, married to Raymond Novak. In 1979 she married Louis Anton Kocian. She preceded him in death in 1991.
