Published Obituary: The Banner-Press (David City, Nebraska) 30 Jan 1975, Thu Page 17 "Services Held For Max Zizka" Funeral services for Max Zizka, 66, of Prague were held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Kucera's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Donald Proett officiated. Military honors were conferred at the National Cemetery by the Prague American Legion. Pallbearers were Dennis Urban, Raymond Vlasak, James and William Perk and Myron and Milo Krondak. Mr. Zizka died Sunday Jan. 19 at the Veteran's Hospital in Omaha following a seven-year illness. He was born Oct. 9, 1908, at Prague and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a retired section foreman. A member of the Prague American Legion Post No. 254, he was a Marine veteran of World War II. He married Lydia Vavra, March 27, 1934, at Columbus. Survivors include his widow, one son Glen of International Falls, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Aldridge of Lincoln, Mrs. Michael (Bonnie) Hennessey, Texas, and Mrs. William (Beverly) Kubik, Prague; 10 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Libbie Schultz of Prague. A memorial has been established for the Prague Rescue Unit.
