Martha Louise Wallace (1921-2010) Martha was born December 7, 1921 in McGregor, Texas and went to her eternal home from Bakersfield, California on August 8, 2010. She was the thirteenth of fourteen children and the last survivor of her parents and siblings. After a year courtship, she married Tom on September 9, 1939. Their daughter was born in Texas. They came to Wasco, California in 1946 where their son was born and they lived until 1996 when they moved to Kern City Senior Community of Bakersfield. They made many friends in Wasco, especially through the First Southern Baptist Church where they attended. Martha taught a women's Bible study at the church for many years and sang alto in the choir, she was church treasurer at one time. In Bakersfield, they became members of Stine Road Baptist Church and added to their group of friends. We thank you, friends for ministering to Martha and her family during this difficult timeof separation. Martha was a stay at home wife and mother until she began working in the bakery at Top's Market in the mid fifties. She ended her career after many years of waitressing at Tom's Coffee Shop. Martha is survived by Tom, her husband of seventy years; her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Roger Kirby; 5 grandchildren, Donna Loveless, Deena Simmons and her husband Rob, Wendy Martin and her husband Donny, Kim Burton and her husband Darryl, and Tom Wallace; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren; special niece, Jean Wilson; the greatest of friends, Shirley Zimmerman, and Miriam Welch.
