Son of: Henry Bare (1837-1875) Elizabeth Crowell (died 1895) Married: Eliza Rushton Moss November 28, 1888 Logan LDS Temple, Logan, Utah From the Bare family newsletter: Joseph E. Bair was born in Eaton, Ohio in 1862. His stepfather was mean to him, and he ran away from home at age 13 and ended up in Utah. Newpaper article: Alpine Parents Of 14 Children To Observe Their Golden Wedding Day On Monday WOODS CROSS, Nov. 26.--Honoring the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Bair, a family dinner will be held Monday in Alpine, where the couple lived for many years. A reception for friends and neighbors will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. The couple are pioneer Idaho homesteaders. They made their home in the Eagle Rock country near Idaho Falls, soon after their marriage in the Logan Temple, Nov. 28, 1888. Later they moved to Alpine, where they lived until 15 years ago, when Mr. Bair went into the sheep business near Glenwood Springs, Colo. Recently they moved to Woods Cross. In the winters they do temple work. Mr. Bair was born in Eaton, O. Dec. 19, 1862. He has been active in Church work, filling a mission in the Western States. A native of Woods Cross, Mrs Bair was born there Nov. 23, 1862 a daughter of Daniel and Melvina Moss. They are the parents of 14 children, eight of whom are living. They have 33 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Children who honored them were: Joseph L. Bair, Glascow Mont.; Eugene M. Bair, Woods Cross; Elmer O. Bair, Carbondale Colo.; Harold M. Bair, Alpine; Leila M. Bair, Salt Lake; Howard R. Bair, Leadville, Colo.; James Golden Bair, Glenwoods Springs; Elwood F, Bair, Carbondale. Death Notice from the Davis County Clipper, April 5, 1957: Joseph Bair of Nyssa, Ore., formerly of South Bountiful died at his home Wednesday. Services will be held at Nyssa Oregon Monday, April 8 at 2 p.m. Services will also be held in the South Bountiful ward chapel. He will be buried in the Bountiful cemetery.
