The Columbus Telegram Tuesday July 1, 1952 Funeral Services Wednesday for Mrs. Anna Mares SCHUYLER- (Special) Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Stasia Mares, who died Monday at St. Mary's hospital in Columbus where she had been making her home for the past seven years, will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. Walter, O.S.B. officiating. A short service at, 8:30 at the Bideaux mortuary will precede the church services. Pallbearers will be Staney, Victor and Joe Mares, jr. of Schuyler, William Brandenburg and Leo Bures of Columbus and William Yarlitz of Omaha. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. The daughter of William and Anna Stasia Corcoran O'Fallon, she was born Dec. 1, 1880 at O'Neill, She grew up there and graduated from the Fremont Normal school. She taught school until her marriage to Con R. Mares at St. Patrick's Catholic church at O'Neill. After her marriage, they came to a farm in Colfax county near Rogers where they resided until 1934 when they moved to Schuyler. Mr. Mares preceded her in death June 11, 1947. She was a member of the Little Flower Altar society of St. Augustine's Catholic church. She is survived by six children, Mrs. John L. (Melba) Koel, Mrs. William (Margaret) Brandenburg and Donald Mares all of Columbus; William. R. Mares of Fremont; John J. Mares of Schuyler; Mrs. Dennis (Mary) Anderson of Omaha; ten grandchildren; one brother, James O'Fallon of Santa Ana, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Ben Sechrest, Mrs. Walter Yarlitz, Mrs. Agnes BIndage and Mrs, George Walker all of Omaha and Mrs. Charles Zimmer of Nebraska City. Besides her husband, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
