Obituary - The Bloomfield Democrat, January 3, 1968, Col. #8, pg. #1; from the Davis County Library, Bloomfield, IA Rites Saturday for Mrs. Rector Rites will be here Saturday for Mrs, Katie Rector, 90, who died this morning in Ottumwa at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Wells, 2721 Clearview. The Rev. Ellsworth Walker of Wesley Methodist Church Ottumwa, will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wagler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery here. She was the former Katie Reisch, born July 28, 1872, in Smithville, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob and Salome Engold Reisch. She married Frank Rector October 27, 1897 in Davis county and they farmed in the Troy vicinity. He died in January 1935 and for the past 20 years Mrs. Rector has made her home in Ottumwa with her daughter, Mrs. Wells. Survivors include four sons, Elmer Rector of Fairfield, Lloyd of Bloomfield, Harry of Vinton, and James of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Lena Slycord and Mrs. Lillie Wells, both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Mary Wallace of Adel, one brother, Andy Reisch of Vancouver, Wash., eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceeding her in death were her parents, husband, and one daughter, Elsie Hillman.
