Bio

Marvin Cyril Zelazny, 64, of Genoa, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at his home in Genoa. Marv was born Feb. 2, 1946, to Pete and Leoma Kinzer Zelazny. He graduated from St. Edward High School in 1964 and was president of his class. He served in the Army National Guard 1964-69 until he was honorably discharged. On Nov. 30, 1968, he married Janet Brown in Genoa. Marv farmed south of St. Edward until moving to Genoa in 1981. He worked for Tri Valley COOP in St. Ed., Supersweet Feed and also in the trucking business. In 1999, he became owner and operator of Marv's Spraying Service. Marv enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and many friends. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Mike, of Genoa, Marc and Sheila (Colfack), of Genoa; daughters, Teresa Martin, of Lincoln, JoLynn Bialas, of Genoa; eight grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie (Mike) Wilcynski; and one brother, David. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete; mother, Leoma; sister, Kathleen; brother, George; and many aunts and uncles.
